Created during a wheel throwing class, this collection includes both functional mugs and a sculptural piece centered on the emotional complexity of human relationships. The process of working with clay taught me the importance of patience and intuition—qualities essential to guiding the form as it takes shape. Each piece reflects the quiet dialogue between hand and material, where control meets surrender.
The sculptural work was completed using the raku firing method, a process involving open flames and rapid cooling that results in a crackled, textured glaze reminiscent of lizard skin. This unpredictable surface echoes the emotional layers and tension within human bonds, enhancing the conceptual message of connection, dependency, and resilience.
